Who we are...
The Wichita Metro Area of Narcotics Anonymous is a group of NA members from various meeting halls around the area that come together to ensure the success of our primary purpose. As Narcotics Anonymous is a non-profit organization, we are volunteers who do our best to give back to the recovery program that has so freely given to us.
What we do!
Narcotics Anonymous is a structured organization like any other organization. There is a hierarchy to this structure. That hierarchy starts with the NA group. Most groups are part of a larger community known as an area; that is what we are! Each area joins together with other areas that are near them to form a region. NA regions report to the World Service Office. This is the structure that connects all members of Narcotics Anonymous together. We meet regularly to support our local meeting halls and to pass information between those groups and our region; and vice versa.
How long have we been around?
Narcotics Anonymous was founded in 1953 by the member known simply as Jimmy K. We have been in the Wichita area since the late 70's. In fact, the first World Literature Conference to write the Basic Text was held in Wichita, KS in 1979. Read about our history: History and Culture
What can we do for you?
Our primary purpose is to carry the message to the still suffering addict. That message being that "An addict, any addict, can stop using, lose the desire to use and find a new way to live." If you believe, or even suspect, that you suffer from addiction, we can help you find local meetings, Narcotics Anonymous Literature, and helplines.
